I couldnt agree more Gush, like I said previously we all make mistakes and I would never suggest that I havn't made my share of them in my life either.

The member in question certainly appologises unreservedly and realises that he made a grave mistake in judgement on this occasion. As I understand it, they will not be receiving the jeans now, their bidding Agent Abidko screwing up royally and putting them in a very awkward postion indeed.

If ever a lesson be learnt from this, it is dont sell what you aint got, and certainly dont bother to use Proxy services, anybody who regularly visits this forum will know my feelings regarding such services, put simply they are crap and unreliable at best, and I suspect the seller will have to wait a long time to receive a refund from Abidko.

Also its important to consider carefully items of RMC which appear on E bay. Obviously before I can get them removed I have to prove they are fake, most times the pictures tell me straight away, but some times they dont and if the pictures shown appear genuine then I must assume the jeans they are selling are genuine and in their possession. I am very fortunate that I have an excellent photographic memory, I have probably viewed just about every picture of RMC thats been on the internet for over 2 years, I know when Ive seen a picture before.

I would advise anybody posting close ups of their items on the forum to watermark them, picassa offer this and its completely free. I will probably offer a tutorial thread for members so they know how to do it, it makes stealing pics very hard. You do not want to be unadvertantly helping fakers sell fakes using your pics.

Such scamming is not isolated to E bay either, posting genuine pics and passing on fakes is just as common on Asian auctions as it is on E bay, if you really do not know what you are doing then buy from a dealer like Togged. Yes I know it can seem expensive, nobody wants to pay more than they have to, but you will get guarenteed service and guarenteed genuine goods and brand new too.

can't agree more Dunny. The safest way is always direct with authorized stockists. Can never go wrong with that. Glad the seller realize what he's doing and removed the auction.

hi guys and thanks mod for the detection.

i happen to stumble thru this thread and
would like to clarify that

i have always tell clients to be wary of fakes in Taiwan and Hongkong
if the price is too good to be true.

It is the buyer's sole responsibilties if they decide
to proceed with the purchase. Well, i just buy for them and charge it.

I would also like to stress that, i am not in any collaboration in
any fakes selling or profit sharing with the Ebay seller which is mentioned here.

I do learn a great deal from this..

Thanks Abidko for your comments.

As you have correctly confirmed one of the main issues regarding Westerners purchasing designer goods of any brand from Asia, is that as a Proxy seller you simply purchase items you have been asked to bid on, on behalf of your clients.

Detailed knowledge of a products authenticity is beyond your remit, clearly you cannot be expected to know how to identify if an item or its seller in HK or TW is trying to pass fake goods, you cant possibly know whats legit and what isnt and it would be unfair to expect you too. That would be solely down to the end purchaser, your client, to assess the potential authenticity of any purchases you make on their behalf. If they receive fake goods from you then really that isnt your fault, how are you supposed to know?? You simply pass the goods to them as they were received to you.

Certainly the situation with this E bay auction is not of your doing I fully accept that, and clearly you have no involvement in this in any way. The seller took it upon themselves to attempt to sell the jeans before being in reciept of the goods, in fact before they had even won the auction ( which it turns out they didnt ).

Obviously the level of service you offer to your clients isnt really the issue here, naturally you live or die in business purely by providing a good reliable service to your clients. It is up to others to decide whether or not you provide that quality of service, I cannot comment based on any direct dealings because Ive never used your services personally.

I still maintain that Proxy services, whilst having their uses in enabling Westerners to capitalise on Asian auctions normally out of their reach, simply do not have the product knowledge or time to properly service clients who are after high price designer goods. There are just too many fakes out there. In addition to that, from a buyers point of view, once all costs have been taken into consideration, even you will accept that the deal the customer believed they would get from buying in Asia is in fact quite the reverse. Huge commision costs ( naturally nobody would expect you to provide a service for free! LOL), postage, sales taxes and Customs payment seriously hike the price up for the end user.

I am glad however that you took the opportunity to state your case to hopefully clear any ambiguity with your involvement in regard to this incident, hopefully the seller will do the same eventually.

Thanks mod for your details.

If buyer is able to provide me with detail and tips
as to where i can locate the authencity, i will do it for sure.
I will even go to the extend to meet the sellers face-to-face personally,
check the jeans according and confirm the authenticity.
Of course, the transportation will be charged but it's worth it.

If not, we will have to "trust" what the TW and HK sellers have
described.
But if something is too good to be true.. better be wary.
There's no free lunch in this world.

Guys, all the best to your purchase!
