This is only an estimate from my many experiances of buying from the US. First you need to calculate $200 + carriage for the goods ( lets say $40 ) so we have $240. Now in the UK you can import goods from the US up to the value of £18 ( $36) without incurring VAT or Customs. Of course this is vastly more, so you are gonna have to pay the VAT and Customs on the total value of $240 ( the charges even apply to the cost of carriage too!). VAT in the UK is 17.5% and Customs up to 20% ( depending on the goods). So lets say the worse scenario is $240 + 20% + 17.5% = $338.40. Approx £170.23 based on current rates. Also consider if you pay via Paypal you will incur some charges for exchanging currencies and also their exchange rate is less than the standard rate. Of course you could be lucky and find that your parcel has been overlooked and no charges applied, but it is something you should consider. It might be cheaper and easier to buy in the UK in the long run. Hope that helps

Unless you would save 50% (after paying p&p, tax, duty etc) I personally don't see it being worth the hassle. I've done it a few times and I got a very good deal (after tax, customs etc) on some tops but another time when buying trainers I miss calculated the figures and it cost a fortune. With the trainers I didn't mind too much as I couldn't get them in this country in my size anyway.

I would say if products are in the sale in the US then it is probably worth buying (you should save even after tax/duty etc). The US sales are so much better than in the UK - which is why is very attractive to buy in the sales. Normally the price in $ is the price in £ over in the UK. That's what I've found. So a $70 top will be about £70. A $120 pair of trainers will be about £120 (or near enough - give or take £10 either way).

Just out of interest what were you looking to buy topblood?

I'd say if you really want it go for it Topblood and absorb the extra costs, because Greedy genius is hard to get in the UK, as far as i am aware there is only one seller of GN$ in the UK based in Norwich and I think thats just a select few sneakers that they offer.
