Hi, I need some advice please....

I go to uni and i have been messed around so much this year. You will not believe what i am going to write, but it is all true. This is my final year

Firstly one of our lectures got replaced because we couldn't understand her, she took offence and then gave us a really hard CW, ( Masters level, even our replacement teacher agreed with us) in which we where not taught the core topic until 3 weeks before due date by our replacement lecture. The replacement lecture decided that what we did in the first term wasn't relevant, so we wasted 12 weeks doing nothing !!

Then another lecture got replaced in the second term of my uni ( he was sick, he missed two weeks of uni before they replaced him) and the new lecture decided that all the things we learned in first term were no longer relevant ( wasted 12 weeks of teaching for no reason). we then had 6 sessions left, were he taught us 10 topics ( chapters) !!!

Then the dissertation that i did, our supervisors marked our disso's wrong, so the leader of our my pathway, decided to strip all out grades and get external markers to mark our disso's ( some pupils were given A's by one lecture and D's by another ? MAKES NO SENSE !!). Now we have been told that what ever grade the external markers give are final, we can not appeal their grade. ( ALSO some students were without supervision for 3-4 weeks, as their supervisors were ill!! )

For one of our exams, our teachers tells us to revise certain topics, and these topics do not come up on the exam? and a topic which he didn't not teach came on the exam? WTF. His lectures were shit and he didn't teach us probably ( i have voice recording to back this point , as i voice record my lectures) , we did complain about his to our school, they did nothing

For another exam, our teacher says its 2/3 finance and 1/3 theory, when it is the other way around, i when to see him, and he told me to revise all finance and constraint on just 1 or 2 bits theory i will get a b ( have voice recording proof)

Furthermore all the exams papers apart from one have been leaked, and my teachers and my school know, they leaked last year as well, and found the students who did it, and just gave them a warning. They did nothing i can not explain how bad this year as been, you really had to be there to believe what has gone on !!

I FEEL SO shamed that i even go to this uni, I have been messed around soo FUKING MUCH , i have paid more then £3000+ and this is my final year?

We have been to our school and they are not doing nothing, SOME ONE NEED TO GET SACK OVER THIS !! THIS IS A TOP 50 UNI. and very respectable aswell

CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE ME ANY ADVICE ON WHAT I SHOULD DO? IT IS CLEAR THAT THEY ARE NOT GETTING THE MESSAGE !! WHO CAN I WRITE DO?

i will for sure write to the board of directors once my exams are over on the shameful behaviour of the my School -more should have been done in the interest of the students rather than covering their backs for their mistakes,
I FEEL SO LET DOWN

thank you.

If you can afford to do so seek Legal advice in the matter, clearly you have paid for an education which was below the standard a resonable person would expect.

Writing to the board would be my advice. I mean the highest authority in the uni. The downside is that sometimes the culprits sit in the board or their friends and colleagues do at least. Definitely do this after the grading. Write to them, write to the authority taking care of these matters in the UK, not sure what party does this but you have the right to voice out your experiences.

Reading this, all of my more negative uni experiences feel like nothing, heh. There are always bad teachers, horrible courses and "injustice" of sort, but the same applies in work life and so. Do what you can to get your voice out, but do so with proper approach so that it does not reflect back to you and endanger your grades or studies altogether. Other thing to do is just to bite the bullet, cringe your teeth and push through with determination.

Keep your head up and don't get fed up!

i agree with dunny and tony. you should file a complain and get the board of education to look into this matter. get your classmates and everyone to sign a petition or something and voice all their concerns and problems. seek a lawyer as well and look into getting compensation.
