no one is going to admit it imo when a brand is as exclusive as rmc it kind of defeats the object when buying a fake. i can kind of understand people buying everyday fakes of armani, vuitton, bape etc... but rmc makes no sense.

there is no way that Ebay can police its merchants completely. It's up to goverment authorities to protect the fashion companies copyrights by investigating the individual merchants. Im sure that Ebay has never withheld info on suspicious merchants. That is all they should be responsible for. Every mall in America sells counterfeit goods. Should the mall be sued and fined, or the merchant that tries to make the profit? If Ebay is liable, they might as well close up shop, because they will never be able to stop this act completely and will continue to be sued out of business. Ebay has changed the way goods are sold and creates a competition with retail stores by providing an outlet that allows the market to set the price. Ebay is a good thing!

I totally agree with Damyion. Ebay is like a online flea market which rent out spaces for merchants to sell their goods. they are not there to pick what goods are to be sold and what are not suppose to, they simply let people do their trade. I am not ashamed to admit that i bought 3 pairs of fakes in century 21 before. I take it as a good lesson for me and i learn from it and i get to teach people on how to spot fakes better. acouple hundred dollars for a lifetime lesson, it's worth it.

Yeah I cant see how E-Bay can be liable, I mean, are they supposed to be an expert now on every brand in the world? How would they really know a real item from a fake one anyway? Certainly if they get complaints then yes they should follow them up and perhaps ban the user from trading ( although they will open another account anyway under another name with a new E-mail address). As with all sales it should be buyer beware, even in a retail shop which is considered trustworthy. Its a great shame for those duped out of hard earned money, buying what they believe to be real, and I feel very sorry for them, but lets be realistic, if you purchase a pair of RMC off E-bay for $40 expecting them to be real you are just kidding yourself. Many people who buy fake gear know its fake, they just dont care, they get what they want for cheap and the proper retailer is the loser, due to lost sales and the poor quality of the fakes taints the good reputation and build quality of the real items manufactured by the genuine companies. E-Bay are powerless to do anything about this.

i can see where you guys are coming from and it's a good point. that said, i think ebay are complict in the crime; they seem to turn a blind eye to a lot of dodgy sellers.

It would seem that E-bay could have done a lot more to stop these fakes being sold, but I guess in business it is only money that matters, however I really dont know what E-bay were supposed to do other than maybe put a disclaimer on the site stating they cannot be responsible for the sale of fake goods and maybe give guides on how to spot fakes, but considering everything can be faked from Mobile Phones to Clothing and accessories the list would be massive indeed.

I've bought fake Paul & Shark clothing from ebay. The photo was of an original sweatshirt and when it turned up it was totally different. The guy who sold it has been banned but no money was returned. I wear CP company and am noticing loads of fake CP & Stone Island (though I haven't worn SI since 1996). There should be a way to email ebay when a fake seller is spotted and get these items removed
