Default Prohibit at the magic show 2008 - 09-20-2008, 07:32 PM

As some of you will be aware Prohibit attended the 2008 magic show, which was also attended by RMC Martin Ksohoh. My question however is what the hell is Prohibit doing displaying the RMC logo/ Yoropiko logo in their stall??? ( check to the left of the pic)

I could have understood if the Rangy logo was there, but of course my question is, is Prohibit still selling Prohibit x RMC Collab Jeans?

no, it is not. but you can see that there´s also the yoropiko logo.
maybe a new collab or just stolen the rmc logo again^^
i dont know, but i dont think that there will be another collab, the genuine 2006 prohibit x rmc collab is just stunning, some of my favourite rmcs.
after what prohibit and rangy did to martin i dont think he will ever forgive them

actually i think the reason why there's a yoropiko logo is due to reference from Eastside_Ghost's post saying that there was a sign mym akasaru rmc yoropiko which was by rangy or maybe prohibit. i think they are trying to ruin martin's good name.

I am certain that no new collabs with Prohibit will ever happen again, given what has happened. The Yoropiko flower Logo has been used on the crappy rangy labels for some time, and on the Akusaru waistpatches and still continues to be used. What baffles me of course, is given that all of the Prohibit x RMC collabs were made in very small quantities back in 2006 and all have been sold, why would Prohibit still be marketing them? Are they still making them and selling them as genuine? I ask this because in Japan you can still get this collab, however it is presented in a fancy case instead of the proper black box. Maybe Martin can shed some light on this, because Prohibit wouldnt be allowed to use the RMC logo without permission. Here is the prohibit x RMC in the fancy case, is it real?:

It was this collab with Prohibit amongst many other things that started the whole Rangy Mountain nonsence we see today. Prohibit were licenced to SELL as a DISTRIBUTOR genuine RMC back in 2005/2006 throughout the USA, however they decided to get greedy and manuacture their own RMC without Martins permission, thus started the debate over who owned the right to make RMC for the US market. Martin always was the only one who had right to manufacture RMC because it is his brand, but Prohibit didnt see it this way and flooded the US market with RMC copies, some of which were not even designs that Martin had ever done. Given that Martin owned the name RMC/ Red Monkey and its designs Prohibit had to back down and launch their crap as Rangy Mountain Co. ( see they still call it RMC!) and use completely new designs which were different from genuine RMC. So as you can imagine prohibit using the RMC logo on their stall is a bit of a liberty really!!!

Even though they aren't allowed to use the logo, it doesn't stop them!! They've used it many many times before, so why would they stop now? Prohibit even registered a company & placed the word 'by' in the name to try & confuse people!!
Have a look at the RMC Martin Ksohoh Youtube page there's a few vids on their which some up the history quickly.
Maybe as the RMCxProhibit were collabs they each own the rights to the design?? Therefore Prohibit might still be manufacturing the jeans? I'm only thinking out loud - could be totally wrong? I guess each brand needs the permission of the other brand to do another run?

Yeah I agree CD, maybe Prohibit still have allowance to make the RMC x Prohibit Jeans, even though any made would of course be technically fake, given that Martin wouldnt have had any input on them, but yeah you would expect that both companies involved would have to be consulted. It would be like Martin bringing out a Yoropiko StarWars Jacket to match the Jeans. He couldnt just up and do it without Lucasfilms approval despite being authorised to make the Jeans and T shirts. You would think by now prohibit would just drop this whole nonsense. I mean in fairness if both Martin and Prohibit own the designs to these Jeans jointly then fair enough, let prohibit release the Jeans but without the RMC waistpatch on the back ( I am aware that there are Prohibit x RMC Jeans out there without waistpatches for example, maybe thats what they are?) or put a prohibit waistpatch on them. Ive no problem with that at all, its when they continue to use the official RMC waistpatch on the products that I have a problem with.
