I love my Sugarcanes, and I know I shouldnt say this on an RMC forum but if I could own only one pair of my many jeans it would be my Canes. Ive got the really thick heavy denim ones with the snakeskin waistpatch. They shed Indigo really badly, thats the only negative I can say. I expect I could wear these every day of my life till I died and never put a hole in em they are that tough! A great loose fit and superbly made, I'll do some pics when I get chance, of close ups for you to check em out

Here are some pics of my own Sugarcanes. I would describe the look of the denim as "bitty". The texture is unlike any other jeans I own probably due to the denim being a mix of Cotton and Sugarcane 50/50 mix. Ive worn these many times and they are still very stiff, when I first got them they were like cardboard. I dont know what oz weight the denim is, but Ive seen 21oz Denim and to me it didnt feel as heavy as these do. Check out the last picture, how many other well worn denim jeans can you "tube" the leg and it doesnt fall down, remember Ive put no starch on these, they stand up cos the denim is so thick and like I say they have been worn many times. These jeans will likely outlive me!

Cheers guys, @ smitty, to be honest Ive never put my Canes into the wash, I probably would if I really wanted to reduce the amount of Indigo they shed as a wash normally helps remove the excess Indigo dye which stains your T's and Shoes, because as I say they do often make a mess on anything thats white. As for me personally I'll just let them soften up with wear, much like RMC the inside texture is soft even though it looks like it would be rough on the skin. Keeping a bit of stiffness should make the creases and wear look a bit more interesting too.

It's interesting how different denim brands even in the same "category" have so many different qualities. I mean the sugarcanes' denim looks very similar to the Vintage Label Momotaros, and I would think they are indeed very close to one another in the denim composition weight and such, but the Momotaro Jeans barely bleed any indigo. I mean even soaking the jeans and you only get some of the starch out of the jeans. I guess it has a lot to do with the dyeing process itself. But definitely need to get me a pair of sugarcanes at some point. Really like the snakeskin patch. Ladies Yoropikos also had/have very similar patch.
