I'm noticing more and more RMC styles using lot 1001, the slimmer style, more recently so it seems even Martin is aware that a narrower silhouette as apposed to the looser baggy look is something customers are after. In the past 2 or 3 years most RMC have been lot 1002, you hardly saw any lot 1001 ( most lot 1001 was from 2005- 2006) and we even have the very slim lot 1010 which was introduced with the " made in japan" limited edition jeans with the painted pockets. I think Japanese style jeans will always keep that unique loose look in much the same way Italian jeans tend to be slimmer cuts. Its nice to have both options from a brand of course, but overall in the UK I still see a mix of Baggy Loose, Fitted and Skinny jeans on people so I don't think fashion changing has had much impact on RMC's popularity. If anything the vast array of " me too" copy brands which sprouted up after RMC made pocket embroidery popular have taken some of the market away from RMC simply because people think they are getting much the same thing for a much cheaper price.

Its all about the tapered jeans! Slim jeans are the 'in' thing now. I used to wear rmc and still have them, i slipped a pair on the other day and felt like mc hammer lol... maybe its because i have been wear slim/ guirella/ twist/ drop crotch etc jeans alot recently.

i like slim jeans but never tight skinny ones. i also like straight leg and as dm says above martin has a selection of both.

I think the Yoropiko Black Label and the new Lot 03 Cut have addressed to those that are looking for slimmer straight cut jeans and also "cleaner" looks compared to the lot 1002 RMCs with embroideries etc.

I think its fair to say Martin has addressed with more recent designs from all his stables be it Yoropiko, RMC or MKWS the need to offer a slimmer fit than that of the standard loose 1002 fit. I don't think a loose fit is out of fashion but I do accept that perhaps people are leaning towards plainer fitted jeans including a variety of washes, but I am certainly glad that RMC hasnt been compromised to the degree where there is no longer embroidered designs in raw denim because of this. Admittedly every brand has to move with the times, but RMC would loose its original identity if all it produced was plain prewashed slim fit jeans. I'm as diehard a fan as any regards RMC but I prefer to keep it as it is, if I really want something different there is while host of other denim companies who can provide me that.
And there is the rub, RMC continues to produce loose fit jeans with embroidery because its something the brand pioneered, its what made them different to every other denim brand and with the exception of the cheapo copies you see about they still have no equal when it comes to visual impact.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, RMC will never be out of fashion........why? Because it was never "in fashion" to start with, it didnt follow a trend, it set it from the off. Just like a classic sports car still looks as good today as it did years ago when it was released and is still reveared by many, so too will RMC in the future

Agree with you dunny. I for one, if rmc were to stop the embroiry and go plain I wouldnt buy it. This is because it would look just like the other brands. The same goes for the pre-wash I just dont find them interesting.

As for the skinny and slim I dont know why people like them, they become super tight when you sit down and you can barely store and reach within the front pockets. Also people who wear them them sag them just to get more crotch room! Which end up looking even dumber. This type is more for sexy chicks

As for fashion if you see who runs them you would know why they prefer skinny and slim jeans lol Artist and other famous people probably wear it cuz they get paid for promoting it or they get it for free for example ed hardy. You never seen Gucci, Waka, or Jeezy wear them lol
