Default Ex-Evisu Lover - 08-26-2009, 11:56 PM

What's up everyone. I can't believe I'm just finding this forum as much as I Google RMC Jeans and Yoropiko. I've been lurking around checking out some pics and this is my kind of crowd. Big up to all the fellas out there with true denim game.

I got really big into Evisu a few years ago. I own about 20 pair. But Mr. Hidehiko has completely let me down. Evisu has sold their souls and their heritage for the big time mass production numbers. The only hope you have of buying quality denim made by Evisu is the Deluxe Line, which is still a heavier and more durable denim than I've ever seen on RMC's. But they're really exclusive. I have two pairs of the same Deluxe Jeans because it was so hard to find the first ones, when I ran across a second pair I just couldn't pass them up.

Anyway, I bought my first pair of RMC's (Lucky Cats) last week and I'm very pleased. I'm looking to build my collection up and then I'll start posting pics. Holla back.

Hi there Benjio, welcome indeed! I think you have found RMC via Evisu like many of us on the forum. I know what you mean about Evisu though, although I still like some of the gear its not quite what it used to be which is a shame. Ah well you found RMC just wait until you experiance Yoropiko too!

I'm sure there are some guys on here from the states that have ordered from Togged.com before. If I'm not mistaken they are located somewhere in the U.K. I am about to order a couple of pair of Yoropiko's but then I noticed a disclaimer by them stating that they won't be responsible for any customs fees for shipping RMC's to the destination country.

Can someone here tell me what I'd have to do in terms of customs to get my jeans delivered once I order them. Does this even apply to the United States? I can't imagine there's significant customs cost associated with importing a pair of pants.

Thanks in advance fellas.

20% Custom fee of declared value are sometimes charged for packages arriving from other countries. Togged normally ship by Fed Ex for international orders from my experience, on your part you wouldn't have to do anything till your package arrives but if custom fees are charged, you would have to pay the fees to fed ex when arrived. What did you order btw?

Cool can't wait to see what you ordered! I think the customs you pay will be a set percentage of the goods value plus carriage ( in the UK Jeans are charged at 12%). Also consider that the carrier that is used to deliver your goods will also charge an admin fee ( only a few dollars) for processing your parcel through customs. Tax will need to be paid also and depends heavily on which state you live in in the USA too as it varies from state to state as I understand it anyway ( Houston is 8.25%), unlike the UK where imported goods carry the same Customs and Tax wherever you live ( ridiculously high!! LOL). Its worth considering though, because the costs can rise greatly once that bill arrives, but you might be lucky and it passes with any problems if you have never imported before. Worse scenario is about 20% added to the total price. Be sure to post pics buddy when they arrive!

you only get a customs fee if the value of the total is more then $800. I've ordered from Di-Moda and didn't have to pay customs fees. the yoropiko jacket I got was well over $400.
