Default New Guy - 11-16-2009, 06:57 PM

Hey guys!
This is my first post on this forum and I am excited to get started. First of all, a little bit about myself. I am a college student living in the US right now and I've recently gotten into the whole RMC Jeans scene. Honestly I don't know much about jeans at all and was hoping to learn. My brother got a pair of evisu jeans a while back and I really liked them. So last week I made an impulse buy online and got a pair of RMC jeans that I am almost totally convinced are fake but they still seem alright quality. not sure. They are the ones that say "Sensou Kirai" on the back right pocket. Anyways I hope to learn about RMC more than anything right now.

Thanks

Good to have you here R34 and welcome to the forum! Feel free to post some pics of your jeans, we can soon tell you if they are fake or not. Sadly fakes are abound and you woundnt be the first to make that mistake, but all being well you will learn to identify the differences between fakes and the real thing. Be sure to check out the Powerpoint presentation RMC PowerPoint Presentation

Sweet powerpoint. I'm even more convinced now that they are fakes. One clue was that the inside of the red flag/tag was white and not red. Here are a few pics. Sorry for the bad quality.

Here's the selvedge. Doesn't look very good.

Thanks for the quick response guys. At least I know what to look for now. So what should be the inside color if not the bluish tint? Also which buttons has the silver? (I can't really see it).

Its a shame these are fake because this design is really nice too. The inside denim should have a sort of off yellow/light browny colour to it, its kinda hard to describe but once you get a pair of genuine RMC and put it alongside your fake pair you will see more clearly. The silver bit Shawn was refering to is I assume the central rivets holding the fly buttons on, normally the buttons on genuine RMC are black throughout. Still, you live and learn, I am sure it wont be too long before you are the proud owner of a genuine pair!

welcome to the forum R34. sad to say but that's not selvedge from the pic you posted. you live you learn. i've been there before purchasing fakes without knowing but this forum will help you out and you get to learn to differentiate authentic from fakes here.

I love how RMC is so exclusive. I've actually never seen anyone wear any in Seattle before.
