There is NOT ENOUGH Red Monkey retailers in France !!
Shinzo don't sell anymore RMC jeans (they only sell Evisu now ^^)
Aim-Skill has don't sell anymore, and they have had some troubles with fairness
Jeanus is a good retailer, I bought my first Red Monkey on sale, but maybe they will stop
And I think that ClvII doesn't exist anymore
But fashion trends come always late in France, whereas rosbeefs have so much stores selling RMC, damn ...
I want an official Red Monkey and Yoropiko store in Paris !
I'm French, sorry for my bad English =)

Thats a very good price indeed you got yours for. Togged might be a bit dearer than other retailers but the choice availible is vast. Its always worth contacting Togged if you see something you want that isnt shown on the website because the website shows only a very small selection of what is avalible.

You have to also put into consideration of custom and shipping fees, currency rates etc. Cost of jeans are the same, just that fees adds up.

Boutique out my way in Houston called Georgio's is selling real Authentic RMC for $99 each, older designs though. They went from that high price of $600 plus to $199 to $99.00 each because they said no one was buying it, and I must agree the prices on a lot of the jeans are kind of high, that's the reason i have never bought any RMC jeans before, i mean the selvege is nice, when you slide on some RMC jeans, nice soft smooth feeling, cotton feels nice, but $500 plus for just one pair of jeans is harsh. Though Evisu does not have a big variety like RMC other than painted pockets in different colors, and the Diacock designs, the really high end Evisu, the denim is just a stiff as RMC, and can be bought for under half the price, and The Year Of..denim also very nice, and flashy like RMC though most of the denim is kind of soft, can also be bought cheaper, as I have bought a pair at the cheapest for $81, to next cheapest at $125 a pair, to $150 a pair to no higher than $199 a pair, never paid higher than $199 for a pair of Year Of...denim, and reasons like that made it hard to get into RMC, I love the jeans, and have plently of dough to spread around, but $500 to $1200 for a single pair of jeans is seriously harsh as i'm sure it's more non rich people buying it than rich people, which is what most companys bank on. Knowing mostly people that can't really afford what they are selling will go above and beyond, and be willing to be broke just to get their hands on the brand they are selling, but i guess fashion like war, you choose your battles..Just seems to me honestly, you could get 3 pairs or so of RMC jeans, and just have the pockets taken off, and new pockets put on as they are made available, except for like the truely unique ones like the Octopus lady, and Toyo story, and the full weave across the back ones, but just to pay $500 plus for a new pair everytime they drop because they have new pockets, kind of seems like the biggest winner is really not the buyer at all...Long live RMC, I just wish it was cheaper, like more in the $200, $300 range, no reason for any jeans ever to go over $500, or $1000 ever, but limited run means an excuse for higher prices, and i'm 100% sure the actual people on the old school union style machines making the jeans super higher end selvege jeans are not getting paid very well for all our infatuations...I'll still be an RMC fan though it's easier to look at is,than it is to buy it. Very smart idea, same raw indigo blue jeans, just different back pockets at $500 plus, very smart, wish i had thought of it first, LOL!

Whilst the selling price of RMC seems expensive there has to be figured in the cost of making them in the first place. Of course, RMC like any brand makes a profit on the Jeans ( there would be no point being in business if it didnt LOL) but it might suprise you that the profit made isnt as great as you might think. Even if they were sold for twice their cost price that is still a smaller ratio to cost than most denim manufacturers who probably sell at ten times their cost price! I'd rather buy $500 Jeans that cost $250 to make than $100 jeans that cost $10 to make. The cotton used in the production of RMC is unique to RMC and the smaller yeilds put the cost of the raw material up considerably ( RMC would be an expensive Jean even without the fancy pockets). The Jeans are not mass produced either, limited to max 300 pairs of the most common designs and often only 50 or so for the limited edition designs. The heavily embroidered designs are also very time consuming to produce too, often having over 800,000 individual stitches. The Yoropiko Dragons for example take about 16 hours to embroider each pair of jeans, thats a very long time indeed. Labour rates in Hong Kong would certainly be less than that of the UK or USA but certainly we are not talking sweat shop conditions like we would expect in manufacturing sites in China or India for example where it has to be said the aformentioned brands are often made. I would certainly like to see the $99 RMCs in the Houston store you mention, if it was genuine then the owner would sell it on E bay for way more easily! My suspicion is that it is the Rangy/Prohibit copies that were made a few years ago, these were pretty good copies, some of the best in fact and so would be difficult for anybody not highly familier with the RMC brand to be fooled, the retailers included sadly! Many were duped including DJ premium at one time! Like anything in this world a product is only worth what somebody is prepared to spend on it, you pays your money, you make your choice. As for only non rich people buying RMC, well I'll happily admit I am certainly not rich, LOL, however brands like Gucci, etc are certainly not beyond my capability if I wanted them, but like many people I have other expenses like a mortgage and car to consider, but I do consider myself fortunate enough to be able to afford the RMC brand. I certainly wouldnt get myself heavily in debt for it, I like it but not that much! LOL

Very good counter, very well worded too! Check out the photos in the Gallery, 2 pairs of RMC I bought for $99, I posted them in the photo gallery, those amoung other photos of my private collection. I managed to get Year Of jeans in mass quantity really cheap, and loaded up. I actually saw the RMC at that shop for a long time for $99 in multiple styles, and by the time it clicked in my head to look at them they went from over 10 styles to only 2 styles left, i feel i should have bought them all, as i know for a fact at me buying them for $99 each i could have flipped them for $200.00 flat each. I was more focused on the cheap Year Of though, went from 0 pairs of Year Of..denim to like 12 pairs within a few months due to how cheap Georgios was selling them. I like that shop as when they feel their personal market of people that shop there have lost interest they sell what people are not interested in cheap, don't matter the label! People we passing up cheap Year Of..denim, and $99 RMC for Coogi, and Artful Dodger, can you believe that?!! People were willing to pay more for Artful Dodger than RMC! So i took major advantage of the lack of knowledge holding shoppers that came there. Like one whole year had passed and no one bought the RMC jeans, the Evisu Genes, or the Year Of..denim, so me having been the only person asking they started selling me Year Of..denim for $199 each, then some for $150, and 2 pairs they sold me for $125 each, they sold me 2 high end Evisu Genes for $99 each, and 2 pairs of RMC for $99 each, what savings! I rarely ever don't wear selvege denim, so when i find it cheap i will get it, would like more RMC, just not at $500 plus a pair. I don't have a car note, or any real serious bills, i mean if not not Producing, mixing, or mastering tracks, might just be playing my PS3, or watching TV, I'm well off enough, not rich yet, but well off, still $500 plus is harsh. I'm a bargain hunter, and when i find good deals i jump on, even if i see something i want super bad,i set a mental price limit, and if it exceeds that i refuse to pay for it, no matter what it is, or how bad i want it, as only thing really necessary in life is food, water, money, place to live, car to drive, and girls, LOL. everything past that is extra..
