I was looking through ebay, typing in red monkey jeans. A saw some typical fakes, nothing new, until i came across this pair. It is by the brand Money Talks, which is supposed to be "major" in the US. It isnt a chinese brand. It seems like it is not only Rangy who is trying to get a piece of the pie.

And it gets worse. It is not only Red Monkey that this brand is copying but evisu too, and artful doger. Here is an image of their version of the Evisu Daicock:

Yeah looks like we have another pretender, this is just like that Denimistik company who make virtually identical jeans to RMC, all the web searches Ive tried for this brand come up nothing, so I assume Denimistik are made by a sister company in China, probably in fact the same company as the above rubbish. Still at least they are not calling their stuff Red Monkey like some companies do, but copying the designs this obviously would still make them liable for a lawsuit!

Ive seen copies of "Year Of" jeans before, but this is the first time ive seen copies of G Star. There are a lot of companies who could sue this manufacturer and its suppliers. Most copies of designer jeans tend to be of small independant denim companies who probably dont have the financial clout to sue, but when you start copying designs from the big players like G Star then you are certain to get your ass sued big time!

I made mention of a company called Denimistik, who were producing jeans that whilst not having RMC or Red Monkey on the patch were in essence exactly the same in style. They were made of selvedge denim and had completely different designs to RMC. This was the brand that I saw in John Anthony in Bristol, and also in a high end clothing store in Wolverhampton where I live. I have since seen them again in a store in Chester. The salesman saw my Rock RMC's and proceeded to show me these Denimistik jeans, thinking I'd be interested, sadly for him i pointed out that I was wearing real RMC and not this inferior brand and that these were just poor copies, which didnt do much to win him over LOL. Anyway Ive actually managed to get a picture of these jeans which were in the shop window, sorry the quality isnt up to much but I was trying not to be too obvious given my previous run in with the salesman.
