Ok, i'll try to my best to translate the video.
" In these couple of years, the requirements for the quality and standards of fashion seekers have been increasing. For those that actually meet the requirements are only a handful, but at Tsim sha tsui there's a new brand that have launch their 3rd branch and have join the ring of high quality fashion. Let us check it out now."
"When you enter the RMC store, 1st thing you will notice is the 1000sq ft place filled with items. there's alot of different style and designed jeans to select from. With so many nicely designed jeans and soothing enviroment, i believe you'll spend alot of time just looking at the jeans."
"When we say that this brand represent jeans of HongKong, it's not exaggerating at all. From design to production and management, they are all handled by people of HongKong. The quality and details of the jeans gets better and better, thus more and more people gets to know bout this brand. They (meaning RMC) also uses a special washing method and also exclusive embriodery design into this season's jeans line up as well."
"Hi Sam (Sam is a worker for 1OO1 so that answer your question jackie) how are you. As we can see, there's lots of RMC merchandise here and we'll like to know how far back is the history of making RMC jeans?
We have our own company since 2002 it's been more than 2 years now (so this video might be from 2005 or something to answer your question steve and i believe this is the 1OO1 store in TST. the interior looks different from the new seleven) and we notice that HK sell mostly foreign branded clothings and those brands manufactures their clothings from HK. Since HK have the ability to produce quality clothings for foreign brands, why not trying producing a brand from HK, for HK. That's the birth of RMC."
"So what inspirations made you guys produce such an exclusive branded jeans? We took inspirations all around us and put that inspiration down to designing of the jeans, but before actually putting the design on the jeans, we focus on manufacturing, durability and quality of the jeans. We will only release the jeans when they meet the requirements. (i'll like to add this that when manufacturing a pair of RMC jeans, they won't let the jeans out for sale with the least fault such as loose cotton, inconsistent tension on sewing etc.*thank u paul for the info*)"
(looking at the back pocket) "This technique is called Flocking. Flocking is a way of putting a piece of cloth under the denim to create the effect of the jeans which is sort of like tattooing. Tattoo is very popular nowadays where it wasn't that acceptable before. With this flocking technique which is like tattoo, it gives us a new way to create new designs and inspiration to making the jeans."
"In early stages of RMC, they used a series of unwashed denim to create a name for themselves and their most outstanding selling point is the embroidery on the back pockets. At that time, due to heavy costs reasons big denim manufacturing companies were only able to create similar small embroideries. RMC on the other hand are able to create such highly technique embroideries, they are also able to create different colors and collabs, creating a very exclusive style of their own. They created not only jeans of original taste, they took it a step further by adding the home made style to the jeans to make it truely exclusive. Ontop of the uwashed denim, there are also slightly washed denim available as well. the washed denim are slightly lighter in color but that allows the embroideries to stand out even more. Not only does the embroideries stand out, the washed denim adds an additional personal touch of different colored buttons to wrap it all up. By all these details you can tell how much conscious of style the designer is. Not many designers have products that are actually that detailed."
"So to produce a pair of jeans like this how much work and time are required to complete a pair of jeans? To produce a pair of jeans are really costly. Before the flocking technique, we have tried other methods but the end results weren't as acceptable. To produce the jeans we required the factory to modify their machines thus not many factories were willing to take this job. HK factory was more willing in taking the job and with pointers from other tailors we manage to create this end product. We've tried giving orders Japan and UK factories but although they agree to try manufacturing, they were never able gave us an end product. Being able to produce jeans like this now tells us that our technique are actually up to par with the factories in other countries. Here you can see down the leg seam which is called selvedge. The way they produce the jeans will always have an extra cloth on the side. The difference between selvedge denim and regular denim is that they are more durable and also after a period of wear, the will look more vintage. we use double inch loom to create the selvedge so you can see there's 2 different colors here. This tells people that we put effort down to the smallest detail and like other name brands, using their small details to make a statement. Just like other name brands, they don't use a big logo for their design but the smallest details to attract people. That's what they call a true name brand. "
woah.. that was a long type. enjoy guys
