Default New Yoropiko Functional Jacket - 01-21-2009, 06:58 PM

This is a new Yoropiko Functional Jacket.
It's stylish, waterproof and made of premium material like on Prada jackets.

What are your opinion regarding this jacket?

I'll also like to discuss bout what you all think about the current Yoropiko and what you expect or would like to see in future Yoropiko designs? Do you expect to see more "dragon like" designs? or would you like to see more subtle but yet stylish designs like what you see on the jacket?

Lets start talking

Not a fan of the above jacket to be honest, although I am sure it will have been superbly made. I am very much old school Yoropiko ( well if there is such a thing cos the brand is only about 3 years old LOL). I like my Yoropiko to be flashy and bold in design. I want everybody to look and go WOW! There are so many other quality plain brands out there that I can already buy if I want more subtle styling. If anything I want to see more designs like the Dragon using huge embroidery and the Toyo/Octopus/Warlords RMC's for example. Yoropiko should be all about absolute quality and groundbreaking designs.

I would love for it go away from the OTT style. RMC can cater for this market on its own.
Yoropiko can fill a gap in the market - kind of like a cross-over brand between the street OTT style of RMC and the more subtle styles of other brands.
I also agree with the emphasis on Yoropiko's quality & attention to detail.
Yoropiko nice little features which sometimes I think can get lost on big bold designs.
I think Yoropiko & RMC should be two totally different brands & styles. Otherwise the divide will disappear and they would end up too similar.
Then maybe do once yearly collabs between RMC & Yoropiko to create stunning jeans!

Not a big fan of the jacket either. I feel that yoropiko is trying to do too much right now. The yoropiko khakis and khaki-shorts I saw in hong kong were not the finest khakis i've seen and fall way back from dickies for instance. Also the yoropiko ladies and some of the plain yoros had far lower quality than most of the rmc products, or so I felt when checking the products. And the jacket, I feel is not quite there either. Of course I would have to see the product first hand to cast my final opinion. Then at the same time yoropiko has the dragon designs and other nice products. Still I get the feeling that the brand is trying to find its identity. I would like to see yoropiko retain the denim styles and lines it has out right now and not mix it up too much.

Great views guys! Keep them comments coming. I personally think being how Yoropiko is still a very new brand, Martin's probably trying to test out all kinds of different styles, material and come out with some really special ideal products. I mean although not all designs will be to our liking, it may appeal to others. I agree with you tony, I think that RMC and Yoropiko have to been seen hands on to be able to know why it's worth what it's worth.

So what do you guys think Yoropiko in terms of design is heading? What do you expect to see in the upcoming or future designs?

Which design among Yoropiko will you say is your favorite design?

The Hungry Dragon in any of its incarnations completely exemplifies everything Yoropiko is about. Its "THE" Yoropiko to own and in my opinion is still the best design ever produced by Yoropiko. This is the direction I would like to see Yoropiko go, and also with special collabs like the StarWars Yoropiko too. I think Yoropiko would also lend itself well to more collaborations, maybe a Yoropiko/Bape one would be cool! RMC is a more rigid formula, generally a plain Jean from the front with just the pocket area used for the imagery, but Yoropiko has a wider canvas to paint on, anything goes and there is a greater variety and range to the yoropikos template for design. Whilst I purchase Yoropiko for its outstanding quality which wouldnt change even if the products were plainer, I also buy them for their design too. Like I say there are many other brands which offer great quality along with understated looks. Nothing out there is like Yoropiko as it currently stands, and I'd prefer it to stay that way

I do like the jacket it's simple and plain although I know it will cost some crazy amount. If the price was decent it would be worth it but since it will be high it's probably easier to just buy a jacket from some other company that is just as nice but a third of the price. I think RMC and Yoropiko should make more hoodies. Nothing goes better with a nice pair of jeans like a good hoodie. I am waiting for my Sakura hoodie now but would love to see some more come out soon. I also think the price range for them should be around $250, $500 dollars for a hoodie is steep.

I would like to see RMC colab with an Italian brand like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana or Armani.
